Are Coin Pusher Legal In California?

a little 'theology of gender

I resume in the hands of this tool that allows us to communicate in this virtual world and also picks up my anxious thoughts about 'review of the Bishop of Foligno, and this time I do it with a very nice contribution that I received from my sister Sister Barbara, I brought to the attention of two precious writings. In my last blog where I express my own thoughts on this strange case of defense "in favor of Italian Prime Minister, by a bishop, I wrote that I was a bit 'outraged by the fact that Italian theologians be silent in the face of certain statements. Actually I was wrong, or rather I was referring to who officially takes the role of theology or theologian, "maybe in some universities, forgetting rather than" doing theology "is more eloquent than any teaching. Today, I learned of these "letters". My statement was very categorical and thus not totally true, but as always happens, sometimes our inner imagination is blinded by the officer of the roles, in this case theological roles without recognizing the more subtle movements of light, however, opens a space and allows us to see even better. And 'why, on my blog, I would like to give space to these two letters, because readers listen to other women. Every thought is not to re-evaluate the institution of the Church, but yes, knowing all these efforts, however, that alternative, believers and nonbelievers do for a living and provide opportunities to life, to be a dignified life, in all material respects and, as this should be the passion and make sense of our theology, I invite readers to listen to these two classes of theology that, personally call: "theology de género" , as we say in Latin America. The first paper is titled: reflection on the dignity of women in the light of the image presented by the media; is Sister Eugenia Bonetti (Consolata Missionaries) head of the "treat women and children" USMI (Union Superiors Italian). The second, signed by Sister Rita, is the Ursuline Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Mary, the community, "Ruth" in Caserta. Both are dated: January 27, 2011.

reflection on the dignity of women

the light of the image presented by the media

Rome January 27, 2011

from the document "Ecclesia in Europa " issued June 28, 2003, we find this passage in defense and protection of the dignity of women:

"The Church does not fail to raise his voice to denounce injustice and violence against women, in any place and circumstance occur. It calls for effective use laws that protect women and are put in place effective measures against the use of demeaning images of women in commercial advertising and against the scourge of prostitution. "

The constant news stories in recent weeks that follow one another with shamelessness in our newspapers and television and radio broadcasts terrify us and make us think that we are still far from seeing the woman for what it really is and not simply an object or a commodity to be used at will for personal gain. Many of us wonder why all these news media and above all we ask what image we are giving the woman and her role in society and family, regardless of the facts of record, the facts about what is being presented by the language used without shame.

As women who live and work for a vocation of love and service to life and respect for the dignity of every human being, can not but speak exempting them from expressing our concern and our outrage at the destruction we're doing the woman and disregard for its sacredness and identity.

In recent times we have tried to eliminate street prostitution because it was annoying and bothered the self-proclaimed right-thinking people and we wanted to shut her up in less visible places, but we do not realize that prostitution and body image of women has become an integral part in our programs and television news, for everyone. All this, unfortunately, educates exploitation, abuse of power, pleasure, power, without any concern of the painful consequences on our young people who see role models. The woman has become just a commodity that can be bought, consumed and then get rid of an item as "disposable."

The religious life for women through the centuries and its history has always had particular una'attenzione to women protecting, defending and promoting its identity and dignity against oppression and discrimination of all times and places, particularly in situations of marginalization and poverty.

Unfortunately, despite the empowerment gained by women in recent years in different ways and areas we have to admit with shame that still, unfortunately, in 2011, his dignity is threatened and terribly crushed and its identity completely blurred.

In the last twenty years the sisters have met in a special way on our roads and the face horrors caused by human trafficking, especially women and children for the use of humiliating and degrading sexual exploitation of their bodies. Most immigrants are young, used as a source of pleasure and profit. Many of our religious communities, faithful to their founding charism, have welcomed in recent years, thousands of these women who rebel against this exploitation, offering them protection, respect and opportunity to rebuild their lives and their futures destroyed.

How much effort and dedication, love and selflessness, service and solidarity have been offered to so many women victims of trafficking and exploitation without any gain and financial aid institutions, trusting only the providence. And how many lives saved and their families and give back to society! How hard and how long it takes to heal the wounds caused by violence and human selfishness to reconstruct the personality of a young female victim of deception and abuse!

On behalf of all these religious in various parts of Italy each day with courage and dedication, careless of the risks and stress, without seeking publicity, and gain consensus, but simply guided by and respect for the true person, bent over due to injury these women from sexual exploitation. Help them to heal and discover the true face of love, giving them the will to live, grow and love.

I want to end my discussion by quoting a very wise and said today: 'makes more noise than a tree falling that a growing forest. " This is more relevant than ever in our media environment.

Despite the big fuss is being done these days for a tree that fell and that has shocked and confused many people, religious we continue to work quietly but with determination to protect the dignity and sacredness of every person, especially of women and girls, victims of a society of consumption and appearance, lack of morality and lack of values.

Our service of women for other women - as well as continue to be a strong denunciation not only in words but through the concrete proof of our life - wants to be an appropriate response to so many young people, victims in different ways of life of our models, so they can grow and recover the size and the joy of returning to be protagonists of their future. Their true success and their future can not be based on money, career or on the privileges of the powerful, but on their human capacities, their inner beauty and their sense of responsibility.

And we women religious who work in this ministry we want to continue to be the trees that grow quietly to deliver oxygen to eliminate pollution and to remind everyone - society and the Church, politicians and ordinary people, young and old, men and women - that honesty, respect for the dignity and identity of each person is the largest capital on which a civilized country should be able to invest and save for us today and for future generations.

One day our work will be judged not only by the One who created us and whom we are accountable, but also we will be judged by the same story. Thanks.

Open Letter

Caserta January 27, 2011

Festa di Sant ' Angela Merici

"If you come to know clearly that they are in danger the safety and honesty of the daughters, not help you at all, nor bear, nor have any regard, if you can not provide you, the main recourse for mothers and, without any regard, be persistent, too intrusive and annoying "(St. Angela Merici).

years, along with three of my sisters (Ursuline Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Mary), are involved in a land of many to say "no hope". A territory, Caserta, more and more in his knee for severe environmental degradation, social and cultural life, where even the scourge of sexual exploitation perpetrated to the detriment of many young immigrant women, is very much present with signs of violence and its real slavery.

As a woman, as consecrated caused from the Gospel of Jesus who speaks of freedom and hope, along with my sisters, I chose to "make me a friendly companion next to these young foreign women, often minors, to provide them with the wine of hope, the bread of life and the smell dignity.

Today, looking at the face of Susan and bend light in one of his little Francis, chosen and accepted with love, thinking of its history - one of many stories accepted, which was still a child (16 years ) was found on our roads as a commodity to buy, to violate and use the part of many Italian men - have been assailed by a feeling of deep shame, but also anger.

I felt the need, as a woman as dedicated and as an Italian citizen, to ask pardon of Susan to the unseemly spectacle to which everyone, these days, we are witnessing. And not only Susan, but also to the many women who have found help and liberation and to the many, many women still slaves on our roads. But also to the many volunteers and many young people with whom we believe in the value of the religious person, in particular of women, recognized and respected in their dignity and freedom.

I am shocked to assist as "villas" of the power of government representatives, elected to try and do only good for our country, especially in a time of crisis so severe, offend, humiliate and spoil the image of women. Anxious to see exercise power in a manner so brazen and arrogant that reduces women to a commodity and where rivers of money and promises intertwined bodies transformed into objects of enjoyment.

Faced with this show and much indignation is great!

How not to go with the mind the image of another "palace" of power, where about two thousand years ago the powers that be, embodied in King Herod, John the Baptist shouted with all her voice: "It is not lawful, it is not lawful."

today too, in the name of Susan, I feel I raise my voice and tell our powerful the Erode-turn, you are not allowed! You are not allowed to offend and humiliate the "beauty" of women, you are not allowed to transform relations into commodities trading, driven by interest and money, and especially now it is not lawful stifle the way of young people in their desire for authenticity, beauty, transparency and honesty. All this is the betrayal of the Gospel of life and hope!

But before this show I rode in a question: where are the men, where are the boys? There are few voices, even believers, who wake up clear and strong. In their silence, there is still too much silence, complacency and perhaps subtle hidden envy. I believe that in this male world, where relationships and are often exercised in the name of power, there is great need of liberation.

So thanks to you, Susan, sister and friend, for giving voice to mine, and our indignation, I can now, as a woman consecrated as a citizen, look in the eye and with the little Francis breathe the scent of human dignity and freedom.

Church, Berlusconi, etc..: A gender issue

say I do not think anything new since the echo aroused in recent days the opinion of one of the Italian bishops (Bishop Bertoldo) on 's time ever hopeless "case, Berlusconi is known to all, and certainly each of us has already made his remarks. I will say then, is not to amplify the echo of a biased news and ideas that are being cultivated inside and outside the church for centuries, but it is a relief that comes from a deep sadness. As you know I live in Bolivia and, almost always, living in certain places, you have the ability to filter the news from other points of view so that many times I hear news that after reading them and have felt certain emotions, quietly put in the drawer . But this time, it seems to me too, I think it has crossed the line and who has not previously Premier is the only Italian, but a member of the Christian community. Maybe someone will say that this is simply a thought-not-official of a member and this is true, but as far as I know-I-be a bishop means in some way be a public figure, and over all representative of a Christian community, believe that the statement shows not only an opinion but something more. In addition the silence in the church always generates around these kinds of thoughts and opinions, the silence, evasive tone to be able to say nothing and not to give, not take place because otherwise it could be dangerous, above all for priests, all this and more still, it makes the case even more public and I think even more sad. And once again my attention on the issue will not stop Berlusconi, on the other already widely commented on by everyone, but something like a woman who believes sister and besides, I feel really sad. Or the ever famous statement of the Bishop of Foligno, who, I think, sounds like this: " ... Berlusconi in sin, does not offend the natural rule, follows nature. Vendola offends both sin nature and therefore is made much, much worse and be silent ... " , indicates much more than could be So the support and complicity with a policy never before in the hands of people who are totally corrupt, with all the symptoms of a real very serious psychological distress, including frustrations and delusions of power, at the mercy of a self-centeredness psciologico impressive, social and gender, as well as economic. The statement of Bishop Berthold, in my opinion, is even more sad and immoral, because it shows the idea of \u200b\u200bsexuality and gender above all likely to have a bishop today. I am deeply shocked as a woman, how can a believer now justify the abuses which are women (because 's what it is), young and old alike, whether Italian or foreign, just to defend a politician Premier? How can a believer uses these criteria to read that disparage the female gender in addition to that established by Monsignor as "against nature"? Definitions of this type as well as challenge the discriminatory attitudes of the Catholic Church official, puts at risk the integrity of many women and men who express their gender with honesty and do not need clandestine private homes or public to express their sexuality than anything else living, in fidelity to the lives of others, consistent with what they discovered along their routes of faith. While some statements like that of Monsignor Bertolo, are statements that ridicule the people and make life just a game of deception and perversion. Moreover we know that today the Church's ethics are very weak on this and if this is justified by saying that the fault lies with the postmodern world, in fact conceals his profound crisis that now never makes it visible to the world as a corrupt institution and ambiguous, that only manages to hide and justify only those that provide some privilege matter how small. A church that does these kinds of discrimination and with arrogance and contempt (even if it is not the first time) is a church that really has nothing to say. It amazes me that both theologians Italian theologians and never fail to react to these types of statements, it amazes me and saddens me to think that now will never accept everything, not just politically but also in the Church. It amazes me that women do theology in Italian universities does not say anything after a statement that indirectly defines us all-only be women-not only legally available for the various political turn, but also for all those who have the right to wake up with the desire to use us. A monsignor Bertolo I remember a phrase from the Book of Isaiah: not tell the stranger who has joined the Lord-Of course I exclude the Lord from his people! -. Do not tell the eunuch-Behold, I I am a dry tree -. (Cfr.Is 56.3). Stranger, a eunuch, but instead have these categories of people in our individual and collective Christian imagery? And remember that the wisdom and the ability to intuit the mystery and the divine presence in history, we are not necessarily the date for receipt of an "endowment", on the other now more truly Christian feudal, but also by whom, with respect, search for life, not only for himself or for his own small group, but for all this, too, did not invent, but you can find in a New Testament text which again refers to those who, at the time, defined as "eunuch": At 8, from 8.27 to 39. However, with these statements and these tones, you can see why the church has hidden for centuries, child abuse and women, and today these realities must be added the moral and theoretical and actual abuse on homosexuals. For each reader, I commend further reflections and conclusions.
